PETROL 96 EXTRA FORCE

In 2009, Mihail Popov and Angel Angelov, founder of Genig Studio, made some impressive projects and Petrol 96 Extra Force is one of them. Even from the beginning of this project, in mid-summer, it became clear that it would be one of the most difficult ads to produce in Bulgaria. A Dragon-robot, build of engine parts – this is a rarely seen idea in the advertisement industry. The dragon had to look mighty, had to seem fierce, it had to be recognizable from first sight that this is a dragon and all of this had to be really realistic. The whole idea comes from the Petrol Company’s logo – a stylized version of a dragon.

The concept was created by one of the most productive concept-artists in Bulgaria, Miroslav Petrov, and his design turned out to be so successful that it was immediately approved, with no changes. After that a raw model of the dragon was made according to the concept, that was used to make a pre-viz version of the add. This version made the clearing of all unnecessary shots possible and by this the client was able to watch the add before it was ready. At the same time began the work on the hi-poly model of the dragon. The final design took about 30 days and reaching the eventual result – another 30 days.
